Theosophy News Worldwide 1st Quarter 2014

This issue was published on 2014-04-01 or 9 years 9 months ago.

Editorial

Steven Otto

Dear friends of Theosophy,

Theosophy has given me so much and of course it still gives me a lot. So I want to give something back and this is the cause of this independent quarterly overview of published theosophical content worldwide.

And you can support this, meaningful project I think, in different ways, first you can promote it via email to other friends of Theosophy, so that they sign up for this absolutely free quarterly non-commercial newsletter service and on the other hand, you can suggest and submit articles to help to complete this or the next newsletter-issue.

Or may you will link to the index-page of Theosophy World News from your website, here the HTML-Code of the link: or only the link: Theosophy World News https://theosophy.news and to spread it through the social networks for example Twitter or Facebook of course, is also helpful.

Furthermore, I am also interested in your opinion, about what I write in this editorial, so today on this project itself. Write me your opinion and I'll publish it within the next newsletter (appears at the beginning of July) in a new topic called "reader-opinions".

And finally I would like to note, that this newsletter is an independent one. Means, I do not present in this way a selection of my own opinion or just opinions of a certain so-called theosophical tradition or a particular society, but (hopefully) all theosophical content, which was published in english within the last three months.

And now thank you for your attention and enjoy reading.

With kind regards from Munich, Germany

Steven Otto
Editor of Theosophy World News

PS: My article-tip in this issue is the article by David Reigle, "The Book of Dzyan: The Current State of the Evidence" which you can find in the category "News and articles on theosophical sites".

To be true, religion and philosophy must offer the solution of every problem. That the world is in such a bad condition morally is a conclusive evidence that none of its religions and philosophies--those of the civilized races less than any other--have ever possessed the TRUTH. The right and logical explanations on the subject of the problems of the great dual principles, right and wrong, good and evil, liberty and despotism, pain and pleasure, egotism and altruism, are as impossible to them now as they were 1880 years ago. They are as far from the solution as they ever were, but. . . . "To these there must be somewhere a consistent solution, and if our doctrines will show their competence to offer it, then the world will be the first one to confess, that ours must be the true philosophy, the true religion, the true light, which gives truth and nothing but the TRUTH. . . .

From the article "The Theosophical Society: Its Mission and Its Future" by H. P. Blavatsky, published in Lucifer, August 1888 and especially this paragraph HPB has quoted from the so-called "Maha Cohan Letter".
